From our Commercial Division, this month’s Project Spotlight is on 99Degrees Custom. A Lawrence- based light manufacturing company led by renowned CEO, Brenna N. Schneider, 99Degrees specializes in sewn and bonded sports and active wear. Employing more than 40 people who are 95 percent people of color and 60 percent women, 99 Degrees is pioneering a future where apparel is built by an empowered workforce, robotics, lean process and agile systems.
The company was awarded the top prize in Humans and Machines category in MIT’s Inclusive Innovation Competition. Employing a host of techniques and materials, our commercial crews, led by Phil Garside, been working to provide complete plumbing and gas piping for 99 Degrees expansion fit up within the historic River walk Innovation District. In addition to domestic water, drainage and venting, Denommee crews have been installing a complex Trans Air aluminum compressed air distribution system to provide power to sewing machinery.
